What we collect
When you contact us. Your name, phone number, email address and whatever you tell us — through our contact form, by email, or over the phone.
When you use Drop Off & Go. Your name and contact number, so we can identify your washing and let you know it’s ready, along with any instructions you give us about how to wash it.
Commercial customers. Business name, contact details, collection or delivery address, and billing information for invoicing.
When you pay. Payments are processed by TangerPay. We never see or store your card details — those go directly to the payment provider. We keep a record of the transaction amount and date.
CCTV. Our premises are under video surveillance for the safety of customers and staff and the security of the site and equipment. Cameras cover the shop floor and entrance. Footage is retained for 30 days and then automatically overwritten, unless it’s needed for an incident, an insurance claim, or a request from police.
Free wi-fi. If you connect to our wi-fi, our provider may log your device identifier and connection times. We don’t monitor what you browse.
When you visit our website. Standard technical data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and how you found us.
Website specifics
Comments. If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect what’s in the form plus your IP address and browser string, to help detect spam. An anonymised hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to check for a profile picture. Gravatar’s policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
Cookies. If you comment, you can choose to save your name, email and website in a cookie so you don’t have to retype them — these last a year. Logging in sets cookies for your session and display preferences. None of this applies if you’re simply reading the site.
Embedded content. Some pages include embedded content such as Google Maps. These behave as though you’d visited that site directly and may set their own cookies and tracking.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how people find and use our website. This information is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How we use it
To do your washing and let you know when it’s ready. To answer your questions and quote on commercial work. To take payment and issue invoices. To keep the premises safe. To improve the shop and the website.
We don’t sell your information to anyone. We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked us to, and if you have, every one carries an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only where we need to:
- Our payment provider, to process payments
- Our website host and email provider, as part of running the site
- Our accountant, for invoicing and tax records
- Police or other authorities, where we’re legally required to
- Our insurer, if there’s a claim
How long we keep it
- Drop Off & Go records — 12 months
- Commercial invoices and financial records — 7 years, as required under Australian tax law
- CCTV footage — 30 days, then automatically overwritten
- Enquiries — 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner
- Website comments — retained so follow-up comments can be approved automatically
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, or ask us to delete it. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Some things we can’t delete — financial records we’re legally required to keep, and CCTV footage forming part of an active incident.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, contact us first and we’ll do our best to sort it out. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
We keep customer details in secured systems and limit access to people who need it. Our website uses SSL encryption. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives at gosfordlaundrylounge.com.au/privacy-policy, with the date it was last revised shown at the top.
